SUNSHINE COAST FOOTBALL’S TOP GLOVEMEN

(Jacob Brown - Buderim Wanderers; Dale Hill - Caloundra FC; Brendan Martin - Kawana Force FC; Damien Cox - Beerwah Glasshouse SC)

The Sunshine Coast Senior Premier League has long been a solid stepping-stone for many of our young Academy keepers into higher levels of football. This season we have an unprecedented number of our young keepers establishing themselves as the number 1 keepers at prominent clubs on the Sunshine Coast.

Dale Hill, Damien Cox, Brendan Martin and Jacob Brown fly the Academy flag in the local McDonalds Senior Premier League in the 2016 season. Dale Hill has been an established senior keeper on the coast for many years making his senior debut at 15 and this season lines up for Caloundra FC after a stint in the PlayStation National Premier League last year.

Damien Cox lines up for Beewah Glasshouse SC who are in the process of regenerating their senior team with a very young squad this season with Damien at the tender age of 21 being one of their more senior experienced players.

Brendan Martin 20 made his senior debut last season for the all-conquering Kawana Force Club and could not have wished for a better season to start in the top flight. Brenno came into the 1st team late in the season helping his side reach the Grand Final where his memorable Grand Final performance helping Kawana win the Final in front of a packed Sunshine Coast Stadium.

The latest Academy keeper to make his 1st team debut is Jacob Brown 18 who made the switch from reserves at Noosa FC to take the senior spot at Buderim Wanderers FC and has made every post a winner since the start of the season looking like a veteran in goals.

Training together at the Academy and then facing off on weekends for their respective clubs makes for some interesting banter during training each week but they all are great role models for our younger keepers.

Just for the record Jacob Brown’s Buderim Wanderers FC sit 3rd on the table followed by Caloundra FC - 5th, Kawana Force FC - 8th and Beerwah Glasshouse SC - 9th but its early days with just 5 points separating all 4 teams!
