Academy goalkeeper Teagan Micah has been selected in the Young Matildas squad to compete at the U19 AFC Championships in Nanjing China. Tegan has already represented Australia at U17 level and was part of the Young Matildas squad earlier this year that competed at AFF Tournament in Vietnam and will be looking to secure her spot as the Young Matildas no 1 keeper at the tournament.
The AFC U-19 Women’s Championship, which doubles as the qualifiers for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2016 sees the Westfield Young Matildas drawn in Group A alongside hosts China PR, Japan and Uzbekistan.
The Westfield Young Matildas must reach the Final or progress to and win the 3rd/4th play-off to qualify for the FIFA U20 World Cup and play their 1st match against Japan at Jiangsu Training Base Stadium on Tuesday 18 August.
